NY Health Insurers Fined for Prompt Pay Violations
Health insurers pay NY $716,800 in fines

A number of health insurance companies and HMOs have paid up big money in fines to New York state for not reimbursing health care providers promptly.
Twenty health insurance companies and HMOs such as Aetna, GHI, Fidelis, HIP and Oxford were fined earlier this year anywhere from $1,000 to $159,650 for not abiding by the New York’s Prompt Pay law, according to the New York State Insurance Department.
